Yandex Managed Service for Kubernetes: Enterprise Scope
Yandex Managed Service for Kubernetes creates and manages Kubernetes clusters on Yandex Cloud. It can simplify infrastructure for container applications; it does not automatically take over application code, data protection or team responsibilities.

Business need and product selection
The need for Kubernetes depends more on deployment and operations than application count. A managed cluster may be appropriate if you have several container services, a regular release workflow and a team to operate the environment. A VM may be easier to understand for a simple website. Cluster type, node groups, network access, persistent storage and update channel are considered together. Tools such as kubectl, Helm and Terraform are supported.
Planning record
Architecture discussion record: applications and services / image source / CPU-RAM requests / exposed endpoints / persistent data / secret management / release and rollback owner / monitoring alerts. Describe cluster backup and application-data recovery separately. Check the current product lifecycle before choosing an older registry service for a new project.
When is managed Kubernetes not the right choice?
It may introduce additional complexity if the team lacks container operations skills or the application is a single workload that changes infrequently. A managed control plane does not remove responsibilities such as application security and resource limits. Compare VM and managed-cluster options against the same business need when discussing product selection with Quad.
