Yandex Cloud Backup: Server Backup and Recovery
Yandex Cloud Backup backs up and restores data from supported virtual machines and servers. The official documentation covers Compute Cloud, BareMetal and suitable external infrastructure resources; connection, agent and supported-system requirements must be checked for each resource type.

Business need and product selection
Two business questions guide backup design: how much data loss is acceptable, and how quickly must the application be running again? These goals affect backup frequency, the full or incremental approach, and retention. The official documentation describes application-consistent backups; check the application's own requirements separately. Do not equate a disk snapshot with resource-level backup.
Planning record
Recovery record template: resource / operating system / application dependencies / backup policy / last successful run / retention period / target recovery environment / task owner / recovery evidence. Do not assume that restoring a VM backup to a physical server, or a server backup to a VM, is supported; check the official limits for your chosen scenario.
Does taking a backup guarantee business continuity?
No. Even if data is recovered, the workflow may not operate without identities, connections, licences and application dependencies. Include the recovery target and owner in the quotation scope. A fixed recovery time or zero data loss cannot be promised before evaluating resource compatibility, data volume and network conditions.
