Source announcement date: 2026-10-30 · News/event date: 2026-10-30

In its October 30 statement, Cloudflare announced that the 50 MB upper limit for the results of D1 database queries will be implemented on November 4, 2026. The news concerns enterprise applications that return huge data in a single query.

Scope of the announcement

Queries that exceed the limit will return errors. Import and export operations made with the REST API are not subject to this limit. The provider explains methods such as selecting only required columns and paginating large result sets.

The limit described here is not about the total storage capacity of the database or the size of each record, but about the result returned by the query. The announcement date and the start date of implementation are also different: the control will come into force on November 4.

Quad Bilişim commentary

Result size limits may become important in applications that produce larger responses in the background, even if little data is shown on the screen. The difference between the work the query does and the amount of data required by the user is the key point of this announcement for businesses.
